Kimberly Griffin serves as the dean of the University of Maryland College of Education. Her work aims to promote access, equity and justice in higher education. Griffin’s scholarship focuses on diversity within the Black community, mentoring and professional development, and equity and inclusion in graduate and faculty communities.
Much of her current research focuses on increasing racial diversity in college and university faculty, particularly in science. Her research has been funded by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, National Institutes of Health, and National Science Foundation, and she currently serves as co-PI on two NSF-funded projects. In addition, she is the current editor for The Journal of Diversity in Higher Education.
