University of Maryland Recognized as the Top Public College in the Washington D.C. Area

The University of Maryland, in a joint ranking by the Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education, has been named No. 3 on the list of top colleges in the Washington, D.C. area, leading the list at No. 1 among public institutions.
This honor is part of a national top-college ranking published in September 2017 which assesses colleges and universities on the success of their students, using both quantitative and qualitative data from over 200,000 current students. Performance indicators for the ranking include access to sufficient resources, student engagement, academic reputation, campus community, graduation rates and post-graduate debt. The University of Maryland is ranked No. 82 overall nationally, and is listed as the No. 17 public institution in the nation.
