The American College Personnel Association-College Student Educators International and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education have selected the University of Maryland Division of Student Affairs as one of the 30 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs for 2021.

The list takes into account factors such as workplace diversity, staffing practices and work environment, using a web-based survey to examine categories such as family friendliness, salary/benefits and professional development opportunities.

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to ensuring that its 1,000-plus staff members have a supportive, developmental work environment that actualizes departmental missions, attends to individual and collective needs, and facilitates employee growth and development.

"I am incredibly proud that the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Maryland has been named one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs. And, given this challenging year in higher education, I am especially grateful we received this honor this year,” said Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo. “This award recognizes the exemplary work of student affairs educators deeply invested in maximizing human potential for all members of our community. We lead with a desire to foster community and a deep sense of caring, so all members feel that they matter.”
