University of Maryland to Host Spring 2023 Commencement

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland will host its 2023 spring commencement ceremony on Monday, May 22, 2023, at SECU Stadium to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the Spring 2023 graduates and Summer and Winter 2022 graduates. The spring ceremony recognizes a group of graduates who have earned more than 11,000 bachelor’s degrees, 3,000 master’s degrees and 600 doctoral degrees from schools, colleges and programs across the university.
Television Journalist Gayle King ‘76 will deliver the commencement address for the spring ceremony. Graduates and guests will also hear remarks from this year’s student speaker Colette Smith.

RSVP:
To ensure access to the commencement ceremony, media must RSVP by Friday, May 19 to mediainfo@umd.edu.
PARKING/CHECK-IN:
Media must park in lots 1 or Z and enter through Gate H at SECU Stadium to obtain their press pass, which will allow media access to the designated media area in the stands. Credentials are required. Press passes will be given to media who RSVP by the deadline noted above.
LIVE VIDEO STREAM:
The ceremony will be streamed live on the University of Maryland’s YouTube channel and commencement.umd.edu.
