Tamara Clegg

Tamara "Tammy" Clegg is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the BA in Tech & Info Design at the University of Maryland College of Information Studies. She also holds a joint appointment in the College of Education. Dr. Clegg earned her PhD in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Tech. Her research interests include developing technology to support life-relevant learning environments and participatory design with children. She co-directs the Youth eXperience (YX) Lab, which focuses on designing and studying technology to support youth learning and development and is the director of INFO’s new B.A. in Technology and Information Design. Dr. Clegg is passionate about using information and technology to break down barriers and create exciting new possibilities. In 2018, she received tenure at the University of Maryland College of Information Studies. Dr. Clegg is a highly respected faculty member and has been featured in the Human-Computer Interaction Lab.
