Peter B. Sunderland is Professor of Fire Protection Engineering at the University of Maryland. Previously he was NCMR Staff Scientist at NASA Glenn Research Center. His degrees are from Cornell University (B.S.), the University of Massachusetts (M.S.), and the University of Michigan (Ph.D.). His awards include: Fellow of the Combustion Institute, NSF Career Award, two UMD teaching awards, Keystone Professor, and the Isbrandt Automotive Safety Engineering Award. He is co-author of 72 journal articles and over 200 conference papers. His research has been funded by DOE, NASA, NIST, NSF, and industry.
