Paul Goeringer is a Senior Faculty Specialist and the Extension Legal Specialist in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at UMD. His research and extension program is focused on agricultural law issues including agricultural leases, energy leases, landowner liability, production contracts, agricultural nuisance issues, environmental law, and estate planning issues impacting agricultural producers in Maryland. He actively collaborates on research projects with collaborations across UMD and at other institutions. Paul has secured state and federal funding for his research including USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Paul has authored over two hundred articles and is a sought-after speaker on agricultural law issues.
Paul is a board member for the American Agricultural Law Association, and an active member of the Agriculture Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, and Southern Agricultural Economics Association, and a member of the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association.
