Jennifer Golbeck is an accomplished faculty member at the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, social media, data privacy, trust on the web, sociotechnical cybersecurity, data science, analytics, visualization, human-computer interaction, and social networks and online communities. She is also an active science communicator, speaking with the media and at conferences about current issues in tech.

She is also a Co-Pi in the newly established Department of Defense (DoD) Minerva Research Initiative project, which aims to promote the development of research in the social sciences and humanities that is relevant to national security.
