Nathan Fox is a Distinguished University Professor and chair of UMD’s developmental science program. His research interests include: infant and child temperament; development of emotion and emotion regulation; human developmental neuroscience; and development of social cognition. 

Fox's expertise has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Times, The Times of India and Washington Parent.

Fox has served as associate editor of Developmental Psychology and Psychophysiology and as editor of Infant Behavior and Development. He is currently associate editor of the International Journal of Behavioral Development and has authored more than 100 empirical papers and 40 chapters in edited volumes.
