Collins and advance conversations on social justice May 09, 2022 ## Contacts Media Relations: **COLLEGE PARK, Md -** On Monday, May 16, the University of Maryland will host a dedication ceremony for the newly constructed Lt. Richard Collins III Plaza. The plaza will honor the life and legacy of 1st Lt. Richard W. Collins III who was killed in an act of hate on campus in 2017. The program will include social justice activists, community leaders, government officials, university leadership, family and friends of the Collins’ family, joining together to remember Lt. Collins and advance important discussions on social justice and equity for all. The dedication will be open to the campus. **WHO:** - **President Darryll J. Parking will not be available directly adjacent to the event and there will be no opportunity to unload on any streets closer to the event, so please plan accordingly.
