Biography: 

Cheng-i Wei is a former dean in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and director of International Programs in Agriculture & Natural Resources. His research interests are in food microbiology and safety, toxicology and immunotoxicology. He has secured more than $11 million in external funds and published 205 refereed papers.   

Prior to joining UMD, Wei served as associate dean for research and graduate studies of the College of Human Environmental Sciences at Oklahoma State University, as well as interim head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences.
